Easttle writing practice - Uninvited guests

Kia ora readers, for writing we have been practicing for the easttle writing test. This is the story I wrote in 45 minutes that had to include this sentence "His heart pounding he was sure he had seen the doorknob turn" and must be set around this picture. It isn't finished yet because I ran out of time. Do you practice for easttle?

BOOM! ‘I hate school’ Ben mumbled to himself as he slammed the door. He suddenly heard a loud thud that shook the house,  it goes quite ‘what was that’ he wondered as he peered around the corner looking for the source of the noise, BANG! ‘Ahh’ he screamed it was from behind him. All of a sudden another bang and then another, he was confused, where is this mysterious noise coming. Then it went quite the only noise was the birds chirping, he stumbled up the stairs in a daze he just hoped it was over now. Later the night
‘Come on ben dinners ready’ yelled Bens mum
‘Coming’ ben said
He slumped out of bed and down the stairs

‘ Can you get another seat from the basement since we have company’ she asked
‘Okay’ he groaned. Down he went into the freezing cold basement, the only light was the torch gave off a slight glow, Abruptly he heard a squeak almost like a handle turning he turned and looked at the cupboard door, his heart pounding he was sure he saw the handle turn.
‘Come on ben! Dinner is getting cold’ Bens mum shouted
‘Coming’ he shouted back while running up the cold staircase
The sun peeking through the curtain as Bens alarm rang, he groaned ben tumbled out of bed remembering what happened last night suddenly he ran downstair, into the basement and opened the door. Suddenly a large field appeared but this wasn’t a normal field the grass was blue the sky was pink the sun was grey and the trees where many different colors, ‘Wow, where am I’ he uttered. Without warning ben got thrown out and slammed against the basement wall ‘OW!’ he shrieked, Thud the cupboard door shut behind him, he ran towards the door but all there was is a boring cupboard.
