Past and present hangi´s

 Hello readers!

We have been looking at New Zealand and the culture we have. We had to look at how traditional hangis are made and how technology has affected how we make hangis now. I made an adobe spark about things that have changed with hangis and things that have stayed the same.

Would you use the hangi machines?

How have Korowais and Kākahu changed?!

 Hey readers!

For our inquiry, we have been learning about the culture of New Zealand.
We are learning about how items from New Zealand culture has changed because of technology.
We could choose between learning about, korowai, moko and haka.
I choose to learn about Korowais and how they have changed.
I made a slide showing past and present of the design, use and material, I also have links to some of the websites I used.

As you can see the past and the presents for the use is the same, we still use it to show status and leadership.
There are more modern materials that we use in Korowais now compared to past korowais.

What would you have chosen to learn about?

My trip to Wanaka!

 Hi!

these holidays me and my nana went to Wanaka for 6 days. The reason we went to Wanaka was because my cousins live down there. Me and my nana and my cousins all went to Queenstown and did shopping I also went to my cousin's birthday party sleepover. It was nice to see my cousins because I haven't seen them for a year. We didn't go on any walks because it was too windy. It was a really fun holiday.

for literacy im making a kid's books about fairy thieves. Here is my slide.

Have you been to Wanaka?

Science conclusion - Baking soda & vinegar

 Hey!

This week in literacy we had to write the discussion and conclusion for our experiments. we did a vinegar and baking soda experiment but changed out the vinegar and baking soda, with recommended substitutes.  we put vinegar in a bottle and put baking soda in a balloon then we put the balloon over the nozzle over the bottle and the baking soda fell in. Once the reaction started it created a gas to blow up the balloon then whatever balloon is most blown up we will know their ingredients had the best reaction.

My international space station module!

 Hey!

For one of my task in literacy this week we looked at the ISS/International space station. We firstly watched a video on how the international space station works, how it was made and some facts about the ISS. Then we hade to make a timeline of the building of the ISS.

After all of that, we got to make a module that we would add to the ISS, mine was a lab where you experiment on many things but I laid it out to experiment on plants and how moonlight affected them. Here is my module.

I added the module because I didn't see anything like this when I was watching the building of ISS and I thought I could be helpful to some astronauts who want to perform an experiment that need a module like this. What the ISS purpose is, the ISS is used for experiments that can only be performed in space.

What would you add to the ISS?
